Aesthetic Injections with Less Pain: Your Guide to a Comfortable Procedure

Are you considering aesthetic injections to enhance your facial skin, but worried about potential pain or discomfort?

Common aesthetic injections, such as skin boosters or fillers, can be a concern for many. While some discomfort is often inevitable, there are several strategies to minimise pain:

Topical Anaesthetics

Applying a topical numbing cream to the injection site can help numb the area and reduce pain. This cream is typically applied 20-30 minutes before the procedure.

In Dr D Aesthetics, we are using a numbing cream with a high-strength, 30% potent combination of anaesthetic ingredients to ensure patients’ comfort during the procedure.

2. Products formulated with local anaesthetics:

Some aesthetic injectable products, such as fillers and skin boosters, are formulated with local anaesthetics, typically lidocaine, to help reduce pain and discomfort during the procedure.
In Dr D Aesthetics, our injectables mostly contain local anaesthetics.

3. Number of injection points:

Minimising the number of injection points means reduced needle penetration, decreased cumulative pain, lower risk of complications and quicker procedure.

Skilled practitioners can achieve the desired aesthetic results with fewer injection points by using techniques that allow for even distribution of the product. For example, we can even use just one injection point for each side of the cheek to evenly distribute the injection product.

4. Ice Packs:

Applying ice to the area before and after the injection can help numb the area and reduce swelling and pain.

In Dr D Aesthetics, our clinic also use cold air cooling device to provide local cooling and numbing of the injection sites.
